Watch episodes of Passport to Latin America or Passport to Europe and pick up her best tips. They could be anything related to travel: how to get around a big city, travel safety ("Always pay attention to those little hairs on the back of your neck."), or finding the best off-the-beaten-path hotel or restaurant.

On many of Sam's Latin American shows, she mentions that before coming to a destination, "do a crime search online" to get a feel for where not to walk around. Definitely a great tip, in my opinion.

Vestige South of France the Rivera 2 Mar 24 2008, 5:58 PM EDT by Sweetmelissa

I watched the show on the Rivera, I don't know is Monaco the private provinces and the rivera kind of like the more public provinces, because it seems that the Rivera is more of a wide range view. I was thinking all the time that south of France was the open to the mountain banks, and the source of the ocean, which ever ocean is located south of France. It is still very posh in it's setting, so if you think about it monaco is north on the other side of the mountain range and the Rivera is south of the mountain range and it all seems to me to be as one people. I can't remember everything I saw on the show so I am more than likely to post another thread. the stay in the little hotel in Eze just near the country side it's how I like to travel not so much as tourist but personal, you know people would not know the location unless they ventured out side of the agenda or plans, I hate it when people called me a tourist because pizza,or the wrap you had is lunch wether it is in new york new jersey or paris but the atmosphere is a bit different. The hoteal makes you think of love poems

conmigo,contigo
what you are to me, what that means to you

Portero the gatekeeper
The obstacles may come
In the magnitude of mountains
But they all shall fall like
The ruins of rome

While trekking esp high altitude, just keep the walking in the rythm and keep it going and you'll be surprised how much you have trekked in the entire day... Just keep small targets.. As The Fastest Everest Climber Malli Mastan Babu says " Aim Small... Miss small..."

Always research the area where you're going. Book a hotel in advance, find out what places are ok to go at night, etc. My parents and I learned the whole book-a-hotel-in-advance thing the hard way in Ireland; we spent the entire day lugging our bags around Dublin, looking for a hotel.

I believe samantha mentioned condos and I got one for right at 100 a night in Waikiki beach//27 floors up and went to Mcdonalds for breakfast across the street Biscuit and gravy like at home. The clerk said this gravy , we dont have. Surprise?? I guess so had a rental from Enterprise, 4 day weekend for total $50 and when it was time to turn it in I found gas at a military base for $3.11 a gallon which was about 35 cents cheaper than when I picked up the car went to the shopping center for free Hawaiian show aranged in advance here at home to pay $16 to get aboard a well know Battleship,The shuttle bus to and fromAirport hotel all for $32.. We walked a long way to catch our plane at a far away gate and this wiki wiki shuttle kept driving by, I only wished I had knowwn is was free travel to the departure gate.Oh, I forgot about travel as I no longer had my rental. I heard Sam say use the yellow bus and we did for the next five days going all over oahu island. It is about 100 here in Tennessee and since I was able to get two of us from Tennessee to Hawaiiand back by air including condo cost car rental and yellow bus to waimea Beach and back more than twice and day and a half at hotel in Las vegas, was not going outside in 115 degrees. Left the air conditioned room when time to catch plane to Knoxville, TN Total cost of trip I tried to get all the deals on inclluding the condo bill we spent 3000 for the whole trip . i AM 5COTCH iRISH, BUT WHEN MONEYS INVOLVED I AM MORE SCOTCH THAN ANYTHING ELSE
