I love your clothes!!! Do you wear a lot of your own pieces on the show, or does the travel channel provide you with the wardrobe? 2. Seven Spirit Bay, Australia is a remote jungle beach and jungle area that is home to some of Australia's last Aboriginal tribes that still live in a traditional manner.

3. The Tiwi islands in Australia has a beach that must be reached by 4-wheel drive; once there, you will experience an awesome beach on the Timor Sea.


4. I'm partial to Calif. beaches. Santa Monica, Huntington Beach, Malibu and where I went as a kid, Santa Cruz.


5. Oregon has some nice beaches. Newport, Manzanita, Seaside. Not as warm there as in Calif. But on a nice day, they are great.

6. Flamenco Beach, Culebra, Puerto Rico.....known as one of the best beaches in the world. The sand is perfect and there's a reef on one side of the beach that you can explore.

I love your show, and try to watch it every chance I can. I especially love your trips to Europe since I'm married to a Swiss. I saw your trip to Switzerland (the German side, but I forget the name) and thought that I should recommend for you to visit the French side next time--particularly Lausanne. It's a beautiful little city, located just northwest of Geneva along the lake. There are so many places to visit like Chateau de Chillon on Lac Leman (also known as Lac de Geneve--they fight over this name). Ouchy is also a must see since the Olympics museum is located there and is very cool to visit. There are numerous other places to visit, and you can always take a ferry across the lake to Evian France, where they manufacture the famous Evian bottled waters :)

Switzerland is a wonderful little country, but most Americans here confuse it with Sweden (sadly). I'm happy that the Travel Channel has been created to help educate some people who haven't had the opportunity to travel outside of the country. It's truly an amazing experience to see and share with other cultures, and learn new things!

We were taking a carriage ride around Central Park when we saw a small film crew. As the person being filmed ascended the steps we immediately recognized Samatha (being big fans of all her shows). She is even more beautiful in person. We cannot wait to see the show. We only regret not being able to jump off the carriage and meet her in person (she is such a fun loving person and a great role model for my daughter).




Hey guys! My friend Tammy and I were totally surprised when we saw Samatha in Austin, TX last Thursday night 4/3/08. We were walking on Congress St looking at all the action for the First Thursday Event and spotted her there interviewing the owner of Threadgill's Resturant! We followed her until her interview was over and then were able to take a picture with her. She seemed so cool and just really friendly. I was so star struck I couldn't say much because I watch her show all the time and just loves what she does...she has my dream job! Thanks Samatha...you made our night :)!!! I'm a huge fan of Samantha Brown. I DVR her show everyday. Although I've seen most of them numerous times, I still put them on in the morning while I'm getting ready for the day. My girls (I have 3 of them) usually wake up around this time and watch the show.

We were extremely pleased and surprised to find Samantha Brown in Disney World's Magic Kingdom over our recent vacation (January 27-February 1). My Samantha is 6, and was so excited to meet her travel idol. Samantha Brown was so very sweet to my girls. Two of my daughters, Samantha and Alexa were interviewed for the upcoming show on Disney World. My girls couldn't help but tell everyone they met for the rest of the vacation that they met Samantha Brown and that they were going to be on TV. I can't wait to see if the interview makes the cut.

well I must admit "No" I haven't, but I do go to the sites she has visited, and mentioned her name and I"ve got the best tour from the Broadmor" in Colorado Springs, I said I've followed this from Samantha Brown on the travel channel, and I was amazed how I got the was treated like a guest, I just walked in just started talking about the travel channel, and it was a hit, Thanks Samantha.

Description of Scene Why You Loved It!
Snorkeling for the first time on the barrier reef in Belize

 She was obviously afraid of snorkeling, but by the end was hugging a shark!

Standing at the counter of an Amsterdam Coffeeshop It was obviously a very sensitive subject and I sensed it is a lifestyle she is unfamiliar with. She treated it with tact and respect, and provided accurate information.

I've done it twice and her reaction was exactly the same as mine!

In the Monaco episode of PTE Samantha stays at the Chateau Eza. She has dinner at the hotel restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. As she's sitting there, she says she'll remember this meal for 50 years and then once she starts eating, she says 75 years.
As Samantha looks into the camera and says that she'll remember this experience for 75 years, you can feel the intensity of emotion she's experiencing and it's absolutely mind blowing.

"Zorbing" in Interlaken, Switzerland		 The screams emanating from that enormous plastic ball were the most primal, exhilarating and frightening sounds. It was a pure and genuine response and, upon hearing it, I felt Sam had shared something so intimate with the audience.
Samantha is in Venice, it's early evening and she's in a quiet walkway making her closing remarks for the “Hidden Venice” episode of PTE. The beauty of her remarks, as she extols the beauty of Venice, along with the incredible setting, combine to create an effect that's nothing short of magical.
Samantha is sitting on a fountain in Berlin making her closing remarks. The insight and introspection of Samanthas’ closing remarks show the true depth of her character and reflect the change she underwent, from not really wanting to visit Berlin, to it being her favorite city in the world.
Samantha is in Salzburg Austria, at the gazebo where the scene from the movie, “The Sound of Music” was shot. Samantha had played Liesl von Trapp in a high school production of the play and asks her host to dance her around the gazebo as in the movie. It's such a charming and touching moment watching Samantha fulfill a long time dream of hers and I’m so grateful she shared it with us. She’s really adorable too, when she’s showing some well worn photos of her high school performance, to her Austrian friends.
Samantha is in Machu Picchu, Peru making her closing remarks. Samanthas’ simple, heartfelt, "thank you", combined with the incredible setting, once again create pure magic, as only she can do.
Samantha is in Belize, sitting in a boat, getting ready to jump in the water with some nurse sharks. She was really afraid of doing this and said she’d stay at a “budget hotel” if she didn’t have to. Hearing Samantha say she’d stay at a “budget hotel” was the funniest thing I’d heard in long time, it really made me laugh. Thankfully, everything went well with the nurse sharks and Samantha still hasn’t stayed at a “budget hotel”.

Riding the little tram called terra vite through the jungle,she says,"I hope it doesn't mean fall to your death."
Where does does she come up with these quips so spontaniously? I don't believe she has a writer. She's just cleaver.

There's a scene where Sam enters this "crystal dome" that changes color and she says, "Now I know what is like to be inside an engagement ring." I don't remember the entire line, but what I do remember is the part about the engagement ring.

I absoloutely loved her sulking face she gave the camera when the other girl she was with pulled her along to a shop that sold what she thought were rather overly revealing swimsuits.

In Mexico City Samantha supposedly eats a whole big sandwich while the big wrestler can't.

In Edinburgh, Scottland, she stopped to talk on a man in the street about his kilt. Everytime he addressed her as "lass", she'd turn to the camera & exclaim, "Lass! He called me 'lass'!" She was so thrilled by that.

Samantha in Venice, I think, and in one day she had to eat one of their "specialties" and didn't like it (I had that same reaction) and then she was at a very beautiful ball - all in the same day.

In Bologna, Italy, Sam went to a pasta-making school. When rolling out the dough, it stuck to the rolling pin, the chef scolded her for it, she said, "That's your fault!", so he threw flour into her face. Then when others tried her pasta, they snickered & giggled, & Sam gave the camera a side look.

TIPS for buying wine and bringing it back to the U.S.: Find out the restrictions for your state before you have it shipped back. California does not allow wine to be shipped to a resident, so you have to go through a broker. Try to carry it with you as luggage. Many times, the wineries are ready for you and make little handles attached to the case. Find out from the airline how many bags you can take. Business Class or First Class usually let you bring back more luggage without an additional charge.

The 10 strangest things I've eaten during my travels

1. Granada in the West Indies - we had 13 courses, 11 of which were meat including pigeon and armadillo. I stopped asking and just sampled. Nothing was bad. How could it be with all those spices?
2. Hawaii - Poi. Why would anyone like poi? It's like flavorless gray playdough. It's in sharp contrast to all the other amazing fresh food in Hawaii. Maybe I just got a bland batch and it really is bursting with flavor... Also, glass noodles...why?
3. Iceland - putrefied rotten shark. We chased it with Brenivin, an Icelandic Schnapps - yum.
4. Typhoon Restaurant, Santa Monica, CA - they have ants, scorpions, crickets on the menu, but they serve them in generous portions of thinly sliced french fries. The ants tasted lemony. They also have worms, but I passed. This is, however, our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. They have the best goi cuon, calimari, catfish in szechwan sauce, vegetable curry, thai short ribs, chicken satay, eggplant, and garlic rice. Plus it is at the Santa Monica airport so you get to watch small planes land and take off.
5. England and Ireland - blood pudding and sausages - ugh.
6. Australia - Vegemite. Oh... this is an acquired taste for sure. It's very very intense so use it sparingly. We also fell in love with Indian food in Australia. It's amazing!
7. Germany - I told them I wanted to eat 'light' so they gave me a giant bowl of dumplings covered in creme. "Light" must mean something else in German. There is a reason that we do not have Austrian or many German restaurants in America. Have you ever said, "Hey, lets go to that new Austrian restaurant?" That must be why Wolfgang Puck left! I ate something really bad, that I think Samantha ate on her visit to Austria, something that was breaded and deep fried with liver in it. I too thought I was going to die when I bit into it.
8. Most things eaten in France are going to be wierd, like a raw egg on top of your dinner, but, it will be the best tasting dinner you ever had!
9. In Australia, it is common to put a slice of beet and a fried egg on their burgers. That was very strange, and didn't enhance the flavor. The best was Shrimp cooked outdoor on the barbee!
10. Arlington, Texas, deep fried pickle. It was a breaded, deep fried pickle that was supposed to be dipped in thousand island dressing. I only ordered it for the novelty but, actually, it was very good. They had a deep fried Twinky at the Texas State Fair in 2006 but I couldn't find it. This year they had a deep fried Latte, but I didn't go. When they have deep fried wedding cake, I'm there!

She's funny and unafraid, but she also lets us know if she doesn't like something too, which is extra funny. And the best part is that she doesn't try to be funny, she just is naturally good humored.
